Finally the wait is over and the “lost” second single from the Saffron Sect has arrived! Formed in Toronto in 2005, the group, led by Gaven Dianda (ex-Flashing Lights, Thee Gnostics) made it's debut and quickly gathered a local following with their highly eclectic sound, which merged timeless folk musings with pop-psychedelic sensibilities. While their existence as a group has been a bit elusive at times, through their proficiency at playing many instruments, the group has continued their journey to explore and expand on many musical possibilities, at times even playing shows un-amplified with acoustic instruments only. On this release, the group is fully amplified and electric, merging nice layers of folk-psych with brilliant pop-psych flashes. If you can imagine the Strawberry Alarm Clock with some whimsical folk-psych moves, that may give you an overall impression of the music contained within. More to the point however, as well-stated by Gaven, these are “technicolour tunes for tomorrow people!”
