Karl Ward A parade of superlatives: an actual long lost 60s pop gem; a belt buckle (belonging to Mike Sin) that can tell stories, such stories; harmonies for days; the single greatest tambourine performance of the 2010s; unbounded excellence somehow contained within a 7". Favorite track: It Could Do Me Better.

about

13 O' Clock Records is proud to present the debut release from the Elevator Operators! This newer Brooklyn, New York based quartet, with members of the Above, deliver four well-crafted originals written by Matt Clarke (the Above, Quitty and the Don'ts) on this EP. Get ready for a solid dose of mid-60's U.K.-style merseybeat and mod R&B, with a dash of garage rock. Glorious guitar jangle that recalls the early moments of the Kinks in particular, as well as a nod or two to the 60's popisms saturated in the early songs scribed by Roy Wood for the Move! Songs chock full of spot-on lyrics, great vocal harmonies, and top-notch musicianship, presented with a true sense and sound of rock n' roll timelessness.

“Going Up! The Elevator Operators have the button of the lift pushed to the 1960s rock 'n roll floor. - The Rockin' Rochester Weekender
