While he still may be a new face to some, or perhaps a self-described garage punk unknown, 13 O' Clock Records is proud to unleash the debut album from Paul Messis, who may be best described as the real deal! Herein lies ten original songs and two covers ( a killer version of the Dover's What am I Going to Do and a hotly amped version of the Barons' garage classic Live and Die) recorded over a period of several months at Sandgate Sound Studios with which to acquaint yourself. Paul brilliantly encapsulates his artistic vision with his sound firmly rooted in the bedrock of late-60's jangly folk-punk and fuzzy-around-the-edges garage. Lyrically, he provides honest, thought-provoking human expression as he probes and plunges into life's many complexities – the fears, the frustrations, the doubts, the hopes, and the dreams. Themes which are both universal and timeless. And don't forget about love, both won and lost. For you see, love is part of the key to The Problem with Me.
